We sat here uncertain of the right words in response to the loss of George Floyd and the light it sheds on countless victims. Normally, Workville strives to be an oasis away from any political strife and so it is not typical for us to comment on current affairs. This however is an extraordinary time.

Alumni member, Color of Change, gave us the right words.

They were founding members of Workville and will always be part of our community. Year after year they work hard in support of Black Lives Matter and civil rights. They ask that if anyone would like to learn more about online actions and events to stand up for racial injustice sign up with Color Of Change. There is no cost to become a member.

As New Yorkers, we also stand with our city. We can’t wait for the city to reopen with Phase 1 on June 8th so we can shop small and minority-owned businesses and restaurants.
